My auto parts store ran across several wix air filters in the back room, the # crosses to 65-66 401-425 nailheads.Does anyone need these?
they say they have about 3,I'm known as buick gary there because I'm the only one ordering old buick gaskets and parts so when they found these they called me.He has no idea what they're worth, start at $10 each he said and go from there,do you know what they're worth and have an offer? gary
Gary, I'm second for these but if it gets to me I'll take all three. Ten dollars each is very reasonable. Tom
current wix part number is a 42084. says it fits 65-67 electra, wildcat and riv. supposedly was the same one they used in 67 when they all switched to the 430 which is a suprise. on line they seem to vary from 7-14 bucks for current ones depending on shipping and such. the old ones are a hell of alot cooler though lol. nice find.
Gary sorry for the delay. I thought I needed that series filter for Jenn's Wildcat (currently has a single Rochester), But I found 2 new filters in the shop while crossing the number that fit. Tom your up.
To clarify, the DT-84 or 42084 filter does NOT fit the larger GS air cleaners. Those call for a Wix 42092 filter. 11.6" OD vs 16.2" OD.
Gary, ten a piece? I'm leaving for Auto Fest in Frankenmuth Mich. in the morning. Can you hang on to them for me? Tom
To clarify, and with apologies,he doesn't really know board protocol.since neither he nor I knew the value he wanted to start at $10 and seek the advice from members on value.Sorry for any confusion. It appears they are worth somewhat more than where he started as an approximation.does anyone know what they are really worth?Sorry,I'm kinda in the middle here. gary
carquest (wix) number is #87084 ( just a dif prefix ) - our "walk in" price is $8.26 plus tax . list is $13.77 . gettin' short out there though . only three national warehouses have any in stock - marshfield , gastonia,nc and riverside . so any price may be plus shipping unless one of those is you stores primary warehouse . thats all i know .
