It looks like they also stock Ross pistons for both the 425 and the 455 at $679 and $659 respectively.

Im told that for the cam im using ill need atleast 11-1 and notched??? and these are 9.1-1. They may work just find but this is my first build and I am going by help from other people with past experience. They said the wisecos or JEs would be the best.

cray1801 Too much is just right.

Maybe this will help with the identification. I think the first ring should be .230" down and is 1/16" thick (pictures don't look like it). The the valve reliefs are .268" deep. Piston is ~679g and pin is 163g.

Huge thanks for all of your help! The early style piston was over 700g. If you have one in the 680g range it is a more recent version.

    Found a solution.

On a street motor, that I want to be tough & fast-happy at 6000K, would the Weisco PTO55H5 be quite a bit better than some of the early TRW, small-dish forged pistons? I have a single plane, SE stage 1 heads, & an 850. The TRW's still need notches.
    Thanx.

    Weisco PTO-55H5 are low $500's at Summitracing.com

    You can search WIS-PTO55H5

You cant beat that deal for a street strip engine. Under $500 for pistons, pins and rings.

I see H4's but not H5's. Is that a typo or is there a difference?

Hello. they are both on that link. there is a V-6 piston in the middle. the top of the 3 choices and the bottom of the 3 choices are 455 pistons. One is dished, one is not.

Correct me if I am wrong.

Do they definetly come with pins & rings?

    Thanx.

    John,

I understand that part, but what I'm saying is that both of the 455 pistons from that link have part numbers ending in H4. The part number you list to search, as in my quote of your post, ends in H5. I don't see anything ending in H5.

  19. Just wanted to bring this to the top and let you guys know that Summit is now charging 615.00 for the PT055H4 set. Bob
