Does anyone have a diagram of the correct vacuum hose routing for 1955 Century. I have 2 small dia. hoses that are coming out of the firewall, that are just hanging there, not connected, they look like theh should be connected or are they drains.. there is also a larger hose coming out of the firewall not connected. Any & all suggestions would be very much appreciated Buckeye.

I've got a diagram on a PC desktop.

I'm on my blackberry right now.

I'll get to my PC tomorrow and post it up.

    Here's the pics.
    An explanation is in order.
'55 has standard wipers and variable width wipers
Standard wipers have one thumb switch on the wiper control.
Variable width wipers have two coaxial thumb switches on the wiper control

The first one is an edited version showing the standard wipers.

This one is for variable width wipers.

Guys, would I be right in saying that green line in the diagram which connects to the black line needs to have a T piece in it?
    Ta.

I think it will require a "T", or I can't think how it will work.....

    edit; maybe a "Y" ?

Yeah, I will plug one in and check it out.
Another quickie, and sorry about the basic questions, (because when I bought the car all the hoses were broken off
and nothing worked) but is the washer unit, that is, the device that pumps water onto the windscreen, vacuum controlled as well?
What I am thinking is to replace the old vacuum motor with a Newport motor, but keep the old style bottle. Is that dopey?
I really like the old bottle in there but from what I have heard, vacuum wipers were not excellent things even in their day.
