Hey guys, I have been going back and forth with this wiper motor thing for some time now. I recently broke down and paid for a NEW wiper moter in exchange for the remanufactured one. I got the new one today and it was a lil different. The connector on it has 3 prongs and the previous remanufactured motors all had 2 prongs on the motor, just as my connector does on the wire harness. Now to the part where you guys come in .... can anyone post pics of their wiper motor connector that is attached to the harness? I'm kinda suspecting that someone maybe tampered with it and removed the factory connector, but the fact that the plug fit the remanufactured motors PERFECTLY is evidence to the contrary. I don't know. And I'm sure I got the correct NEW motor because once it came in (had to order it), we looked it up again to see if it was perhaps the wrong wiper motor by human error, but it wasn't, part numbers matched. I'm stumped. Please let me know, the only camera I have is on my phone, but I will take pics if you all need.

    thanx

I have an 84 t-type so I might be able to help . The plug is really close to the fender.. do you just pull it off, or is there a catch you have to depress to get it off? Let me know and I'll tear it apart and send a pic ..

Use a 10mm socket to take it apart from the linkage and a 13mm socket to take the arm off the shaft. then use the 10mm again to take the top 2 bolts off that hold the wiper motor on, there is a third on the bottom but u can get around unscrewing it by simply sliding it out of the rubber bushing that the bolt screws into. Take notice of the top two when you unscrew them, how the bolt goes thru the bushing and into the bracket, and that the rubber bushing is removable from the wiper motor.

Different connector with three plugs on the motor part instead of two that the Regal uses. How many pins are there on the delay cover ?

Do not think this will work on your Regal without major work, or at least knowing what the various pins are for.

there is only one pin on the delay cover but its adjacent to the motor's plug.
First, let me tell you that there are 2 plugs on the wiper motor. One at the very bottom where it seems that the power goes to the wiper motor and then there is one on the side containing 4 pins ( 3 in a horizontal row on the motor and 1 pin above the 3rd pin thats on the motor cover). I'll have to post a pic later. Just don't know how or why I got a wiper motor that doesn't fit that Dorman sells as new. Tsk.

Contacted Dorman, the manufacturer, and there was supposed to be a wire harness adapter with the wiper motor. They sent it to me w/ instructions and I put it on in minutes.
Then I found out that the wiper motor cover I have is not for my application.
I bought Part #22039684 from RockAuto.com only to find out later from AC Delco, the manufacturer, that this part number physically fits but is not for my application. Its actually for a C-body, Chebby Celebrity 84-86, so I gotta return it and get what they (AC Delco) say is the correct part for my application (Part #22021346).
    *fingers crossed*

UPDATE: Part #22021346 was waaaay off base so I returned it the same day I got it and I plan on probably taking my car to a dealership and having them install it. :af: I'm that THRU with this whole wiper situation! I have over $100 into parts plus my time working on it and time I've been w/o wipers. I'll be content w/ spending $70 and have them install my NEW parts and correct anything that needs it.
I'm gonna wait for the refunds to be credited back to me, then I'll probably re-buy part #22039684, then go to dealer w/ all of the parts.

Somebody give me some insight if you will, am I an idiot? :Do No: What is the problem?

I think I'ma change the steering column too before I go
