what color are the windshield wiper linkage arms suppose to be on a 70 GS?

Metal color or painted black? I’m Assuming the pivot points where the wipers attach are metal color.

    Thanks!

Cool thanks. I cleaned up the linkage yesterday down to bare metal. Got 50 yrs of crud off. I’ll hit the arms with some Eastwood Underhood black.

Do you know if there is suppose to be any lube or grease on the ball and socket pivot points?

Yes, I do and would recommend you grease them, also. Actually, the most absolute important thing to grease on the transmission is the small pin for the articulating arm on the driver's side. That pin is really tiny, and w/o lube it can wear really fast and actually break off. As a point of info, there is a kit to repair that pin that I think ramair Brian makes or sells.
