Okay, I want to get my top sanded and painted before winter and I thought I knew how to remove the windshield trim, but apparently the Buick is not the same as it's GM siblings. Either that or the windshield has been replaced at some time in it's life. I made a video to demonstrate what I mean:

Appreciate any and all help with this. I want to get something done on my car this year as it was out of the garage for most of the summer due to a yard sale at my house. For those who may not remember, my plan is to use a roller to paint the roof as I saw many YouTube videos on how to do this using Rustoleum paint. Thanks!

A bit of a follow-up, I re-read the manual, the section on windshield removal and it does show how to remove the molding, but what is shown is just the same thing as I saw in the YouTube videos and led to the purchase of the hook tool to spread the clips. There was no mention of rubber under the molding and the figure for that procedure didn't show any rubber under the molding.

That leads me to believe this is a replacement windshield which doesn't bother me all that much if I could just figure out how to get that trim off!

If it is the same as the earlier cars, it is held in with studs from the inside of the car. The rubber strip is a gasket, and is stock.

The interior trim needs to be removed, and nuts removed from the trim clips.

Thanks Adam, I will pull the inside trim tomorrow and have a look see. :TU:

Wonder why the SM doesn't mention that?
