I have been looking for some window felt sweep things for my 76 electra, for quite a while. Are there any places that sell reproduction felts? I have seen them for muscle cars, but I have yet to see some for an electra.

Does anyone have a 1974-1976 electra parts car that has good window felts on it? I would probably need all four, or at least as many good ones as you have. Right now the windows have tar along them to keep the water out, as the original felts are gone.

How did they fit? What do they look like? Picture? What is included with the purchase and did you staple them into the car?

They fit surprisingly well, but one of them had a crack in the stainless bead at the bend towards the rear of the back (LeSabre)door. The Electra wouldn't have the bead if the weatherstripping covered by trim, so that wouldn't be a problem. Plus, the company replaced that one anyway.
What they supplied was as close to the original profile as I could find. They attach with very short flat head self tapping phillips screws. The inners do staple but were not available from Restoration specialties. However, I did find some universal stuff from Classic Buicks for that.

What do you mean by the stainless bead? I think we are talking about the same part, here is what I am looking for, which is what I think we are talking about.

Do you mean that the door on the LeSabre is straight back? The electras door curves up just slightly, but the felt sweep follows the contour of the door. Notice the tar in all of the pictures filling in the gap between the window and the chrome trim.

This is one of the better sweeps on the car.

You can see the curve in this photo.

    This one is ruined.

My 4dr LeSabre curves up like that too at the back of the rear door, being a hardtop instead of a sedan. In that curve is where the little stainless bead was cracked. But I'm talking about a 1/8" round stainless bead that is part of the beltline weatherstripping.
The stainless on your car should not be part of the beltline weatherstripping, and should be a separate piece that has its own mounting clips. So the weatherstripping will not need to include the troublesome stainless bead that I am talking about, which is why it is $44 less expensive.

    That's right
The large stainless moulding on Electras (and some LeSabre Luxus/Custom have it too) isn't a part of the weatherstripping.

Here are pictures of the standard weatherstripping on LeSabres. Note that there is a piece of larger stainless moulding at the top of the door between the hood and windshield pillar. After that, the chrome trim is a part of the weatherstripping and the rubber from the weatherstripping extends below the chrome trim on the door.

RePops makes window fuzzies as well as fiberglas hood insulation. Steele Rubber Products sells them....
