windage tray with girdle and 5/8 pick up?

So researching about windage trays. They seem to be a good thing for any build. I'm gonna check my 71 core motor tomorrow. To see if it has one and if its useable. My question is will a windage tray work with a TA block girdle? Any one with experience with a girdle 455 would be awesome. Thanks.

Hey Chris, is that an external oil pickup that's plumbed into that oil pan in the pic?

If so how does it bypass the block passage? That would be a great way to get around the WAY to small oil pickup passage hole in the front of the block if that's whats going on in that pic!:TU:

I see Stef's have one for a stock oil pan set up which I have. Do I have to go to a Deep sump set up? My block has all the oiling mods JW recommends completed.
