I found this rear-end will it fit my 65 Skylark?:10 Bolt posi rear end. Auburn Posi unit w/ Richmond 3.73 gears. 7-1/2'' ring gear. coil spring rear end. It says it will fit grand Nationals and Monte Carlo's and I thought I heard theses will fit.My car is a 65 Skylark.
NO.. that rear will not bolt into your 65 lark. you can buy a new eaton posi carrier on ebay for 340.00 and a set of gears for around 200.00 and then you dont have to go to the trouble of shipping a rear. ratios available for your rear are 3.55 3.73 3.90 and 4.11
OK, thanks for the quick reply.I'm correct in thinking that if I buy a posi and gears thats all I'll need to install right?Still can't decide if I want to go with 3:90's or 3:55's.The 3:90's would be good with my st300 but when I put a 455/th400 combo will this be too much gear to be streetable?
