Will 350 headers kill low-end?

I am curious to know if TA headers would kill the low-end on my engine. I just bought the car and the guy lost the card for the cam, so i have no idea what is in there. He did tell me the car was dynoed at mid 300 for hp and mid 400 for torque. Car does seem to have a lot of low-end right now. Would headers help or hurt in your opinion?

If the 350 is in the mid-300s for HP, it will like/maybe even need the Headers IMO.

I think you will too, though they can be a pain to install.

Thats what I was thinking and I am noticing that your engine is similar to mine build wise (mine is bored also). How did your engine respond to your mods; top-end vs. low-end? Any input is appreciated.

    Thanks

overall more power everywhere. I didnt notice any dropoff at any rpm range, I noticed improvements at all rpms.

Then again I did most of the mods all at once.

Edit: I think the biggest performance difference was realized by swapping rear end gearsets. tried 3.73, 3.42, 3.23. They were the most noticeable seat of the pants changes. I liked the 3.42s best. suited the motor the best if you get what I mean.

If the engine is really in the mid 300HP range you'll like the headers. Run a full 2 1/2" exhaust system with an X-pipe and you'll like it even more!

You'll want to take a look at the plugs and may have to change the jet size up one after adding the headers. Better breathing means it'll want more gas!

Spot-on. I am going thru this right now. All my plugs showed lean. I am working on another Qjet to fix it. Very good advice.

The only thing the headers will kill is the rear tires.:3gears:

I also think you have little to risk in low end power as far as exhaust size is concerned. I ran Hooker Super Comps, and in anticipation of future growth, installed a full 3" X-pipe system with free flowing mufflers. Even with a mild cam and stock heads, it had plenty of grunt.

    Here's a video...

It had a really nice deep rumble, but not too boomy or droning for cruising. The turbos made it much quieter so I am likely going to ditch the mufflers.

That blows my mind. In my experience, I've only seen 3" on the hottest small blocks and big blocks. A friend is running 3" on a 450hp 360 Mopar. Another has it on a typical street/strip 440.

    Very cool, though, Mark. :TU:

Stick those headers on the LeSabre Glenn and lets see what happens!:3gears:

if the guy you purchased the car from bought the cam ( or if not he may know who did ) there is a good chance that TA would have a record of that and should at least give you some basic cam info to go by . you may need car/engine/timeframe info when you call . del

I'm tryin', man! But I need $$ for duals first before I can swap the headers. I don't think the neighbours would appreciate the open headers every morning as I head out for class.
