Hi,i need to change out the power booster in my con`vt `67 GS so i better change the master while i`m at it,my question is who sells the correct style and color power booster and master for my application? Thanks
If you are interested in getting your booster rebuilt instead of buying a new one, contact "Booster Dewey" http://home.teleport.com/~umpqua/ He did mine. It's perfect. I bought a new '67 master cylinder from my local auto parts store. $24.
George - I've also dealt with "Booster Dewey" to rebuild my master cylinder and power brake booster. There are some pictures in This Thread (Although you saw my GS last year at Readers Digest :Brow: ) At the time, he was at www.powerbrakeexchange.com - I guess he left jobs??? o No:
The thing is,i`d like to get a new one so the finish is like the original ones, mine has been painted before. Thanks
George - I'm pretty sure they strip them, then plate them. As long as there are no pits, you should be OK. They also 'brass-sleeved' my master cylinder...
There was a group buy here on V8Buick last March, headed up by Mark Reeves......(stage X????) They were $160 for a real nice repo booster.....They're also sold by GM resto Parts. Not sure who the manuf was.....
In addition to the vendors above, most guys I know have used Steve Gregori - he specializes in GM. www.brakeboosters.com Mark
My 2 cents I Am doing a frame-off nut/bolt rotisserie restoration on a very rare 65,252 mile 70' F-85 2 dr. post coupe, W-31 with a 4 speed and a - - paint code (rally red, one of five built with this color) and I have used Steve Gregori. He is the best in my book. He has done every original nut, bolt, washer, bracket, etc, etc, you name it. All refinished correctly. He never lost anything I sent him to do (very important). He personnally tracks your pieces when being re-plated. I would not use anyone else. I am well known in the Olds community and would not recommend him if he was not the best. PS NO I do not get a commission!
