I am curious of peoples 60 foot and 1/4 mile times with 10.5" or 295 width tires?

I need to double check the numbers.
Tyler did a 1.50 60' and 10.46 or something like that at 3600' altitude in the 70 car. 10.5 tire. We are expecting better when we get it put back together.

Great stuff! I would be happy with mid 10s!

It equated to 10.24 with decent air.
When we pulled the engine apart after the head gasket problem, we found that we had ring problems, which was causing the extreme high pressure over 6000rpm. So high 9's are hoped for after we put it back soon.

Stock type suspension, and it launches straight. Just regular switch pitch 400 tranny.

Well tell me the secret! I plan to push 800+hp to the tires on a 10.5 car....

    All in the suspension Sean.
Tyler's car only has about 500hp, and added the 100 shot of nitrous. It really launches kind of soft, and we were trying to tune the suspension when the head gasket problem hit. We expect high 9's and 1.40's with the motor back as it was, just freshened, and maybe 150 shot.

How much is your car going to weigh? Have you done any suspension mods? Best advice is to search and search and put all the suspension secrets you can get from people all together with your car. The rear drag bar seemed to help, and adjustable upper/lower control arms to set the pinion angle. That's it for the back for us.
Front has loosened control arm bolts, 90/10's and no sway bar. Next will be the travel limiters. That's our car in a nutshell. With a little weight loss. There are a bunch of people going a whole lot faster than us with stock type suspension, so check around for other ideas.

    Good luck.

Thanks, the car will have HR bar in the rar as well as adjustable upper and lowers. The car will have a 6 point cage and possibly more chassis re-enforcement via cro-mo. I will have two way adjustable shocks front and rear as well as lots of nitrous and turbo boost...

Your gonna need more than six points to race anywhere legally if you plan on hooking up with that hp

I run 10.5s because that is all we can run. Have been a best at Bowling Green in good air of 10.15 @ 131 in 1.38 60' and that was with some ballast to slow the car down to the index. Several years when I had a mild engine in the car for a month to get the good one fixed I ran 295 M/T Drag Radials and it 60's were about the same. I have not been as happy with the last set of M/T tires as usual. Took a ton of weight to balance and just don't hook like I'm used to at some tracks.

It is just a little 350 so who knows, it may only make 700 hp. It is just a street car that I will race a few times a year and I would be happy with mid 10s since it is a full weight Skylark.

Mine seems to do alright with 10 inch tires. Ran 9.78 with timing taken out.
    Run 295/65's on the street.
