Who Has An Early 1970 Model Year 4-Speed?

    Someone is asking when the 1970 model year Muncie transmissions were made, and how long it took the transmissions to be installed in the cars. They are specifically looking for 08E, 09A, and/or 09B cars.

    Do you have a 350 or 455 car with the original transmission with one of the cowl build dates above?

    If so, could you please post your Muncie stamping and cowl build date? This stamping is placed vertically on the passenger side of the vehicle on the back of the case, and should look something like P0****

    Marco, My GSX has an early built Muncie from a GS-455. It is not original to my car so that part is no help. The build date is however is POK24B. I believe this is July, 24 probably 69 as it would be too late for 70. It does have a 70 VIN on it but I think it is out of site now.

    Don't know if this helps or not :)

    My 69 has a build date of 06B and the numbers muncie is P9E07B.

    Car= 2nd week of June 69
    Trans= May 7, 69
