I was going to start rebuilding a 455, and I wanted to try my hand at some head porting. I'm looking for someone to do the valve job who knows how to put the proper 3 (4,5?) angle valve job on a set of 430 heads using stage1 valves. Does anyone have a good recommendation? ________ Bondage live
John Zerucha is very good with Buicks, and is on this board. Michels Machine in Oakwood builds motors for Paul Pirnat(low nines) Gary Paine may be of help to you as well(Chardon area) Bruce
Thanks, Bruce. I was planning on using Michaels, unless someone knew of something better. ________ Kitchen Measures
Jadebird, I used Michaels to do up my motor last winter and they are awesome. As far as the heads go John Zerucha is your man. He has done up every single one of mine. Dollar for flow you won't find anyone better in N/E Ohio. Gary Paine is also very knowledgible with these buicks. So with these three as your engine combo guys you will have a very happy buick engine. Good luck and have lots of fun :3gears: :3gears: :3gears: Mike
Thanks, Mike. John definitely IS the man, no doubt. I wanted to try rebuilding a set of 430 heads for a learning experience, so I'm really just looking for someone to do a good valve job. I plan on doing all the blending myself. Thanks for sharing your experience with Michaels. It's hard not to be skeptical when you hear of so many people having issues with their machine work. ________ IOLITE COMFORT CARE PACKAGE
