Hello, I wasn't sure where to post this. I'm looking for a budget shipper if there is such a business around. I am buying a truck in New Mexico and want it shipped to Wisconsin. Any help is surely appreciated.

    Thanks

i had over a dozen cars shipped over the years. first thing is the seller legitimate and has a clean title. then is the seller going to be around when the shipper gets there and can the shipper get the car carrier down the street or road to pick the car up or does the seller have to meet them somewhere. 95% of the time when you get a quote it is from a broker and not the shipper or the shipping company. some brokers will give you a low ball price that will take a long time to get the vehicle shipped or then telling you need to raise the price to get it shipped. most legitimate quotes are with in $50 to $100 of each other depends how much the broker wants to make. sometimes you can get lucky because the shipper just needs 1 more car to fill the route. a good broker keeps in touch with you,the seller and the shipper.

Recently purchased a truck out of Albuquerque. Flew in and drove it home. I bet I saved $1000 bucks or more compared to having it shipped. But I had the time to do it. Not sure of your situation.
I don’t believe there’s such a thing as a budget shipper. And if there is, you get what you pay for.

Bill is very good at this! He is a car guy, cares about your car like his own.

Post it on uship.com & see. Might get lucky & find someone looking for a load in that direction that'd be running empty otherwise.

Usually your two desires don't mix well with each other.

"who do you trust shipping a car"

"I'm looking for a budget shipper"

I agree with James, Chris and Jim. I have used Christina several times for "budget" transport.

Back in 2015 I had a Ford Model A shipped by Reliable. They arrived a day early which caused me to miss an important meeting at work. Driver was mad because I had to wait an hour before leaving work. They charged about $1100 for 600 mile ride. Never again.
In 2019 I found a guy on uship that was passing through without a load and he hauled my brother's VW van 600 miles for $800. No problems and great to deal with even though the van didn't run.

That's where the truck is. I would do that also but it is a very nice 1978 C 20 Chevy and am not sure it will make it all the way back to Wisconsin. Plus, I would miss work and in the time it takes to drive it back, I could cover the cost of shipping by not taking time off of work, although I will miss the challenge of making it back! That part makes me a little sad.

I just got off the phone with Christina...... Nice lady... I feel Im in good hands....

After reading hundreds of reviews on brokers and haulers. I was ready to fly to Boston area..

In my opinion this thread should be a sticky Or a separate section of the classified.....
