Disappointed that so few of you 66GS guys didn't show up at the Nationals. There were 2 restored and 2 unrestored.

Sorry to say this but most of them are gone now. Years ago I had a 66 Coupe with all the trim off California or Arizona cars and could not give the car away for what I had in the parts. (The car came with perfect flawless hood scoops.)

Ended up selling it to 2 guys that cut it up and used it to restore a 66 Coupe & 66 Convert.

Loved the car and had it sideways more then once with that switch pitch trans.

Hey Chuck, You scare them all away after looking at Yours!! Also, if that's what Street Side wants for Thiers, It'll be there awhile.

Yeah, I thought the price was a little high, but Streetside is a consignment shop and they always start out high. If the car doesn't sell, the price starts dropping. I just thought it was a clean looking 66... Just in case someone was looking...

Jimmy doesn't have ALL of them but he's certainly got his share! There's 4 or 5 in the Houston area here....

The blue thin pillar GS on Streetside Classics looks to be a very nice one.

Thanks "Ponch" Paint is about 10 yrs old and it shows. I have seen Jimmy drive all night so he could be first at the swap and buy all the NOS stuff, (price no object)

Hi Chuck. My paint job is Ten Years old too. And It shows. Chips and scratches. But like Joe told me, it shows that it's driven, not stored in a garage just for Shows. And for what it costs for a new paint job I'll take the chips. Too bad the place where yours is parked is gone, you might have been able to get Fred to put a new coat on yours for a cup of coffee or Two.

It's nice to see 1 or 2 usually make the Hot Rod Power Tour every year so not all are afraid to drive them. Overall Buicks are under-represented though and the Tour is such a blast. Next year Charlotte to Wisconsin Dells.

Wish I could have made it but I am a week behind for being done. I wanted to go but bumpers and hood are not done. Will be at Lake George...

If anyone is interested, my buddy ran across a guy selling a beautiful 66 somewhere here in CT - from memory, it's a low miles dark turquiose, black bench seat auto car and he told me the paint is flat out perfect...I think the guy wanted 17k for it...

    Only four... and a 65 GS and '66 Special.:bglasses:
I did the road trip to Jimmy's place in my Special a few years ago. So many 66's in one place.... thought I was in Heaven!

Had my blue car since '82 and did a bunch of road trips in the 80's and 90's..... GS Nats, Car Craft Street Machine Nationals in Indy, Springfield, Ill, and Syracuse, NY. With the 4.11's it cruised comfortably at 60 mph.... tough to do that now with highway speeds over 70.

Haven't been attending shows the past several years. There's just too much other stuff to do in the summer (especially w-o-r-k). I always make Yardley's picnic and been to The Vargo Dragway reunion a few times.
