I have checked with Pirate Jack and they said they have nothing. Booster Boys want me to send mine to them. (How would I stop the car?) Master Power said that, at the present time, they can't help me.

I really wanted Pirate Jack, but the guy told me that he has nothing for a '77 Regal. I didn't like his attitude, either!

    Anyone have any other suggestions?

    TIA!!!

I was able to look up both the master cylinder and booster on www.rockauto.com There's really no reason you can't go down to your favorite auto parts store and order the parts. Have you tried that?

    Larry, Jim and Rex.

I checked NAPA and Rockauto website. It looks like they both have the Booster and/or the Master Cylinder. Funny thing - both company's parts number end with the same digits ie. 1202.

Rockauto says that both items come from Cardone. Wonder if I can take the grey coating off and treat the booster with the Cad-gold?

I think I am going over to the NAPA store near me and have a look.

I didn't really give any thought to getting a setup from a local store. This looks like where I need to start... Thanks for the info.

have you tried shopping for the parts seperately? MC and Booster, you may find one of the replating places will sell a complete booster less MC. and then pick up your MC locally.

Did the 76/7 Regal use the same booster as the 73/5 Regal and were they Delco or Bedix or both? How was the booster plated or painted for the 76/7 one? I am going to redo one and have not found a good original one to look at. Thanks Bill.

I think (?) the original color for the '77 was a light flat grey color. That would be good for buying a Cardone booster. I just don't happen to like that color. So....

Yesterday I looked at my '77, that I drive, another '77 that is a parts car and a '76 out in the back 40, but I can't tell what the color was. Therefore, I am going to finish my new one in Gold Cad because I happen to really like that color.

I have been to NAPA, both the web site and the store, Rockauto web site and AutoZone store. All have parts numbers ending in 1202 and all the parts done by Cardone. The prices are very nearly the same with one exception, Autozone has a lifetime guarantee and no core charge. They will special order for me with no freight charges. I think that's where I am going. Anyway, the new store near me has an old gear head for a manager. He's pretty sharp.

I got NAPA to show me one of their newly rebuilt pieces and it has some sort of a grey phosphate like finish. It will come off easily. So it looks like I can get the AutoZone booster for a good price with a lifetime guarantee and work with it. I'm going to take it to a place that does soda blasting and have it blasted, then, using an Eastwood Gold Cad kit, finish it in gold. That may make me happy.

But for the last question about the booster application and color, I think, grey and the same one from '73 to '77. I have a '73 but it's not here, at my place, right now. I can't tell the color.

I'll do some before and after pictures so folks will be able to tell what it all looks like.

This is the place I used for my Skyhawk. I bought a complete booster/master cylinder assembly from them and it was perfect. Proper yellow cad finish on the booster and the master cylinder was bare cast, which I painted with Eastwoods Cast Iron gray paint. The master cyliinder lid was also yellow cad. It looks beautiful.

    Check them out: http://www.priorreman.com/

I don't really know what the proper finish was on the A bodies from 73 up. I do see in my parts book the booster could be either a Delco Moraine or a Bendex booster during those years.
