Anybody knows where to find a new or restored vacuum pump? Without knowing too much (yet) about this engine, I understand it is connected to the oil pump, and it seems it is not working on my 57 Century.

I would look into www.oldbuickparts.com for their vacuum pump rebuilding service. Once in a while, a vacuum pump turns up on Ebay, but they usually end up going for a lot of money. The vacuum pump on the 1957-58 Buick is a vane-style pump that is attached via a drive key to the oil pump, and consequently is in the oil pan. I always felt that this was one of Buick's more asinine ideas, but enough about me.
Seriously, I would look into this service. It may end up being the most economical way for you to get this taken care of. Good luck.

    Many thanks Nailhead.
The website www.oldbuickparts.com also has a lot of other interesting parts which I may need.
