Where is Bracket 5?

Discussion in 'GSCA events' started by Nicholas Sloop, Jul 15, 2014.

Got my new X-Tra the other day and it looks like "slow" cars aren't welcome on the track in BG. The old Bracket 1-5 have been replaced with three index classes.

Of course I will be in BSA, but sooner or later I hope to finish the M/T headered 68 convertible. That would be a Bracket 5 only car.
I checked the GSCA board but didn't find anything at all about the new index classes.

I didn't see anything over there, either.

Looks like there would still be a need for a fast bracket (slower than super 16 but faster than 10.49) and a slow bracket (slower than 12.49).

Gee, I wondered when someone besides me would see that, makes it basically a non event for the FWD cars and the younger peeps we should be attracting.

Jim that covers Nick but what about the non-BSA cars that are slower of which there many?

I agree there were too many bracket classes for the car count but what is up with adding Index classes IF there still are bracket classes? All it does is dilute the field.

We shall see how much feedback we get:

Bennett replied to Mike's post on the GSCA Board. Three regular brackets, inadvertently left off the "preliminary" info.
    Bracket 1 11.49 and faster
    Bracket 2 11.50 to 13.49
    Bracket 3 13.50 and slower
    Thanks, Mike

Well, this morning around 10 AM I dropped a dime and called the GSCA. "Bill" at the office said that he didn't really hear anything about it prior to this and said he would relay the info to Richard. Well I'd say somebody called somebody because Bennett's post came an hour or so later. Anyway you look at it I'm happy to see the brackets are back and 3 are plenty.
