What you will/may find and where it may be is also dependant on what plant built the car. What is the letter in the 7th position in the VIN?

Here are the pics of my 69 GS, my aunt bought this car new in 1969 at Bill Yates Buick in Fort Smith Arkansas, in 1990 she sold it to my cousin who put it in a barn when he left for Iraq in the first gulf war and it has sat there since then, fortunate for me, the barn was fully enclosed and insulated, the only minor rust spots i have found on this car is under the vinyl top (of course) and a little under the pad in the trunk, and these are just light surface rust with no flaking or anything. The engine was rebuilt once and bored .30 over and has about 20 thousand miles on rebuild. Pack rats invaded under the hood and i have taken about 70 gallons of rat crap out of it lol. :TU:

Seriously though...with whats happened to the value of the 70 cars, the 68-69's are really starting to grow on me.

    Nice find!

    Great find!!!

Hey a couple things to check. That vinyl roof does not look original because it has a center seam instead of two outer seams. Also, is that a 2 barrell carb? GS's all came with 4 barrells.

No, it's a Q-Jet that is unbolted and sitting on the intake with the inlet pointing toward the AC evaporator box.

Correct, which means you will not have the big "one-stop-shopping" GMAD buildsheet. Flint cars usually have a Fisher body sheet somewhere in the interior and another sheet over the gas tank. (Don't know the official names of them...) If found, they can be decoded by Duane.

:TU: you are correct, it is not the original vinyl top, the car was repainted in about 1983 and the top was replaced. that is the original qjet card on top of the air cleaner, someone busted a bolt into the intake manifold that the thermostat housing bolts onto so the intake was taken off and lost presumably forever. :Smarty:
