Hello everyone! I am planning on changing from the stock Buick rally wheels on my car. I want to make the car look a bit meaner and I want to improve the stance. I have 2" drop spindles in the front and drag shocks all around. Roughly stock ride height in the back. Front Disc. My question here is, what is the meatiest tire I can throw on the back of the car? I want to go with skinny front-runners and fat "meaty" tires in the back. I am planning on getting the "weld Black Star style" wheels from Jegs. I mainly want to street the car with occasional outings to the drag strip. I would appreciate any helpful comments and pointers in the right direction. Thanks friends!

You can fit 305/315’s in the back with careful measurements and making sure your body is centered. You’ll probably be limited to whatever back spacing you can get and I bet you won’t be able to get that much without a custom wheel.

I’ve got 285/40/18 with about no wheel gap and no issues on a 9.5 wheel.

I have 295/55/15 drag radials on mine mounted on 15x9 Weld RTS S77 wheels on my 70 Skylark. The fender lips are rolled and they don't rub anywhere. The car sits about an inch lower than stock.
