What is the key to getting these PSMCDR or Pro Stocks out of the hole on these smaller tires..is there a common launch technique ? Or is every car different ? Or is it just countless hours of suspension tuning ? J
It's called D-R-I-V-I-N-G the car off the line. That loose nut behind the wheel still has considerable input in the world of PSMCDR/FAST. Unlike the "box" racers in today's bracket wars where all they do it point the car down the track. uzzled: I think it was Dave H. who said it best by describing the technique as pressing down on the gad pedal as though there were an egg under the pedal and you're not trying to smash the egg.
I know the wife did a 1.96 Would have to check my slips to see if I beat her You have to roll the power on ray: hook up
1.96 with my W-31 -- 4.66 gear. Consistent 2.teens with my 4 speed Biscayne, but I'm a manual trans moron, so that explains that.
I pulled a couple back to back 1.87 60' at the June Stanton race a few years ago with the silver 72 W-30 Olds.
So I'm not to far off ,my best 2.0 to 2.3.I've only ran it at 1 tnt. Those polyglass will surprise you.Thank guys for your in put. Thanks, micheal
1.91 for the 68-396/350 hp nova with 3;42 gear.Like Frank stated, you have to ease the car out of the hole and really drive the car.It is not as hard to throw a set of slicks on a car and just nail the throttle everytime and hang on.That is the difference;you gotta work for ya ET in this type of racing.Chris
Chris in action..Far lane. Watch his head during a dry hop..he needs a HANS device! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J3prt14DRSU
How many times have we heard: "What do you think it'd do with slicks instead of those bias-ply tires?"
