I don't understand how I could be the only one with a running 350 car that showed up in Vegas this past weekend. Where are all of you other 350 drivers at? I had a blast at Vegas. I had help from Jim Burek getting my car to run a great 15.51 at almost 92 mph with a 273 open rear end. The carb isn't even tuned properly and we had an air density of 3900 ft. Not to shabby for a car that I drove to vegas from Salt Lake City and left all the stuff in the trunck when I was racing. If I can ever get the tires from breaking lose during the first 60' I'll consider taking out the stuff in the trunck.
This board is for 350 guys who want respect from the 455 guys but I didn't see any of you at the races showing your stuff. I felt right at home with the big block guys and they really treated me with respect. I don't want to send out to much hate but it really chaps my hide to read this board and listen to every one talk about how great there 350 buick is and not a single one of you showed up to strut your stuff. We really need to make a better showing in the future.

  2. Vegas is a little far for me to go.... who else out west is running 350's that actually takes 'em to the track? :Do No:

Hey, maybe that makes yor car worth more...since it's more rare......LOL

I know how you feel though. The BPG had a meet in Nebraska this summer and I had the only 350 A body car there as well...... had a coil dying and a 4bbl that would only run on 2 on all but one pass, but I ran it anyways......didn't think to load too many tools.

On the other hand, you sure don't see too many BBB on the street anymore, do you? Yep, quite a few SBB running around though.

hey custom sky, I couldn't agree with you more. More and more often guys are actually driving their cars now more often than just showing them. I myself drive my car every day to and from work and everything in between. some people might shun this but I just love to drive that car too much to just let it sit. I really wanted to go to Kearney, Neb. and see if my winter work from last year really paid off or not. I think my car would have run low 14's to upper 13's but work prevented me from making it. you can bet I'll be there next year.the point is the chevy and ford guys are running there stuff and enjoying it and therfore have exposure to what is "popular"among car crafters. If the Buick community gets there cars out there, they might be able to get more exposure for our brand (other than the v6 and turbo guys)of motivationand maybe some day get a few parts finally madefor our cars from companies like edelbrock,goodmark,gm,etc...But for right now let's just keep shoving our Buick's in everybodys face and let them know we're not going away. The more Buick meets and races we have across the country the better. And Mike Atwood if your reading this , we should talk sometime and see about organizing something here in Iowa for the midwest Buick guys. take it easy felllow Buick nuts and lets increase those numbers of "DRIVEN" Buicks out there. :bglasses: :TU:

    Hey Jeff
What are Crane anti-pumps? Just curious. The sad reality is that gm has totally discontinued the 350. Not just Buick, but Chevy has too. Now the chevy guys are going to start feeling the same high prices that we often feel. It's not likely to happen during the next 10 years but soon after that. To many buick owners are letting there cars just sit. They are afraid to wreck them or have them rust and rarely put more than a couple thousand miles on them if that. I can understand their concerns. Buick isn't making any more A body Skylarks. But really what is the point of having a car if your not going to drive it. Every thing comes to an end sooner or later. If I can get 350k miles on my car and then have to send it to the bone yard well thats just life. CARS ARE MENT TO BE DRIVEN. That is just what I plan to do with mine until it gives up the ghost or I just can't get any more parts to keep it running. Enough rambling. Thanks for the responsis every one.

Custom Sky... I would've been there with my 69 GS 350 which I drag race every chance I get. Though from my last runs at Pomona in the 15.0-15.2 range after a year + of no racing it ran a 16.3 at LACR, very dissapointing...

If I had the funds to get out there (like I should've had, long story) I would've been first in line...

I definitely will be there next year, I may have a 400 SportWagon by then but I'll still be looking for another 350 car...

Keep them 350's on the track!!!
