66 and 67 fenders are interchangeable but.. 66 fenders have different vent grills in them and also have different lower trim. the vents on 66 fenders are actually inset into an opening cut into the fender. the 67 vent is secured to the fender with a few studs and actually sits on top of the metal with no cut out opening in the sheet metal. hope this helps

    66-67 fenders are different.

I thought somebody else would chime in here, but the 66 and 67 Special/Skylark/GS fenders are not interchangeable. In addition to the cosmetic differences noted above, the core supports from 66 to 67 are also different so the fenders mount differently at the front.

hmmm. i have a 67 and a 66 . i'll have to compare the 2 side by side to see for myself, the fender mounting points are the same. the battery trays are the same as far as i knew the only real differences in the core supports were the built in headlight buckets on the 67 cars and a couple other small details.

I too have had both '66 and '67's and the core supports are different. but the mounting points for the fenders are the same.
I even took a trip down to Colorador Springs CO from Seattle to tow back a very promising '67 GS400 disc brake car. But when I got there I found out that the owner had "forgotten" to tell me that the hood, core support, grill & bumper were from a '66 Gran Sport. The fenders however were the correct '67 ones. Needless to say I was dissapointed. I just didn't have the time to try to find correct '67 stuff to swap for my '66 stuff. hmmmm it's still for sale if anyone is interested....

    Cheers,

ive been looking for fiberglass fenders and found a vendor called body parts unlimited. 295. per fender, and lists 66 67 as their application. so i guess they are interchangeable. ididnt realize how hard it would be to get a fender. the car has 10000 original miles, but the fender top is warped a little due to an engine fire

I have a set of fenders for these cars for sale. I have someone interested in them but I think the cost of shipping may be to much. I'll check to see if he still wants in case your interested. Can't remember the shipping costs but I think it was between $65 and $85 to the East Coast via Grayhound.

    They didn't work for me.

I too thought they would be the same, but many years ago I purchased near perfect fenders off of a 66 Special for my 67 convertible, and they do not line up properly in the front. The hole locations are way off. That was the basis for my statement. Maybe somebody else will weigh in on this subject, or maybe I got the only experimental set in the world :puzzled: . I will try and get a picture one of these days when its warmer.
