I am thinking about using a floor shifter in my 83 T-Type 464ci TH400 :3gears: . I'm considering using the stock center console type, but (where to find one?)or aftermarket(what kind?) What are you guys using in your racecar? doesn't have to be pretty! Pix are encouraged :TU:

In my regal I used a B&M Z-Gate shifter with the forward pattern and then when I changed to the manual valve bodied th400 i went to a Hurst reverse pattern shifter for the th400. They will both work well in the car. May I ask? What is the combination that you have. Mine ran 6.78 on horsepower in the 1/8th of the mile with a slipping transmission.

I use a z gate shifter in my regal as well but I like my buddy Shawn Carlins Pro rachet shifter much better. I will be changing over to one.
Here are some pic of his set up. In the stock center console like you were talking about doing.
