I got my latest email from the old vehicle scrappage service and their was a 67 Riviera on it. They said they would sell it to me for between 3200 and 4000 dollars. Otherwise it will be completely scrapped. They want to take old cars off the road :af: I think I might go check it out but I have to make a $2000 deposit to show that I'm serious. I really want to save an old car, but I can't go broke doing it. They also have a 70 Riviera. I was never a big fan of that year, but they did come with the best Buick V8 of all time. Its going to be scrapped :ball:
3200 to 4000, or they will scrap it??? Seems to me they would be happy to take a whole lot less than that, if they are just going to scrap it otherwise.
Will they sell parts from any cars??? I don't need a complete car, but some parts for my 70 would be nice.
Nope. Thats the problem they won't even tell me about the condition. Its sitting in the scrap yard and will be scrapped very soon. If I make a $2000 deposit they will drive it to a place where I can view it. They don't really want to sell the cars in the yard because it "takes a lot of man hours". The 3200-4000 charge reflects the man hours involved in selling it and buying other old cars. I'm hoping that it will be in somewhat good condition so if I buy it I can make my money back selling it to someone that would give it a good home. I am in So Cal so it should be rust free unless it was totally neglected. They will not sell parts either! The guy was telling me that the point is to reduce pollution and take these cars off the road :spank: Most of the cars on the list are crap but this time their were a few good ones. The 67 Riv a 70 Riv a 63 Plymouth Coupe a 63 Jeep Wagonner a 71 Merc Wagon All will be scrapped very soon :ball:
I'd pass. If it's a good car why would it be in a scrap yard in the first place? Nothing about this story makes any economic or financial sense to me. A high price for the whole car in the scrap yard, and no parts. Very fishy, if you ask me.
total crap, Most scrappers get cars for nearly free, that's why they're in the business of scrapping cars. This guy sounds like a real tool
Worst part is that by buying it you help fund their war on classic cars. I wouldn't buy it just based on principle. Worthless piles of skin is what these people are, I would look in the papers or on this board, something is sure to turn up and in much better shape I'm sure. Hope ya find what your looking for.
