I'm going out on a limb but here goes... Gran Sports (350-455) came with the red stripes and the black stripes came on the GSX. Someone else might chime in regarding what other models came with the black stripes since it escapes me right now... Hope that helps.

I used the SPRAY engine paint#DH 1608 not sure it is the PROPER stuff but my car never sees rain or high power car washes :af: ---I just masked it off with regular Scotch masking tape---I did it inside my garage(about 60 degrees F) :TU: --had to do ONE stripe at a time-- after the first stripe dried(3hours) I masked the second stripe being careful not to let the sticky touch the new paint and you can see the result---it came out better then I thought :TU: ---again it may NOT wear well in adverse wx :af: but our cars dont usually see that anyway. The red stripes were used on all GS's from 70-72 but not GSX's in 70. Not sure on the other color GSX'S in 71-72
I use 1/4 inch stripping tape on mine. The originals were painted on but the striping tape is a bunch easier and faster.

I used 1/4 in tomato red pin striping on mine easy,quick,and they look good. also I used 1/8 on the trim that goes around the vinyl top. I saw this on a GS years ago at Englishtown and realy liked it.I've done this to all my car since then.
