Before you do that, check and see what there is available in the aftermarket, and go as big as you can get. I've seen 1.25" front bars on mid-size cars like Skylarks. It'll also help resolve the question on your other thread.
good thought as i have been considering beefing up the front sway bar to 1 1/8 . i would be trying to balance an original -like ride with firmer handling yet dont want to be so stiff its not a cruiser anymore,marty
im going to try staying with what appears to mic out to 13/16 front sway bar and 70 electra energy links and sway bushings are verifiable also on ebay from several sellers so im going to try them. The parts are 9.5107 for the universal energy bushings and 9.8117 for the link set. IS IT TRUE that changing these bushings will give the feel of a slightly bigger bar,marty:eek2:
