I was changing my oil when I noticed this port, which appears as though it should have something plugged into it. It's on the passenger side, near the oil filter (visible at left) of my 1962 401. Does a gauge read off of it? jeremy
Usually a water jacket plug there - it looks like it might be an old block heater, used to warm the engine for starting in very cold environments.
It was a cold climate car originally. The current motor was swapped in after it ceased to be a daily driver, so they probably just pulled it off.
