We've got a 66 LeSabre and need parts. We found a guy who will part out his 67 LeSabre which has been sitting for 15 years but is in great shape. Is there anyone here who could tell me how much I could expect to get off it that would work or is there somewhere I could look to find out? If it would be helpful I could listthe specfic parts we need and you could tell from that I'd they would work. If there were enough similarities, he said he would sell the whole thing to me for $500. Thanks in advance.
Unfortunately, due to significan styling and drivetrain changes between those years, very little interchanges. The only things that come to mind may be dash and dashpad, someone will have to confirm this. Devon
Thanks. I thought it might be helpful to share we are looking for right now: 1966 Buick LeSabre Windshield Wiper Carpet Front Seat* Trunk carpet Radio Exhaust manifold 340 wildcat Lesabre emblem New door lockcaps
Okay; - Devon is right about a lot of styling changes between the 66 and 67, but there are quite a few parts that will interchange. Mechanically they're just about identical. Just about all underhood parts will interchange. Most 340s that you'll find in a wrecker have cracked driver's side manifolds, so good luck finding a whole one. They did change the brake system from a single resovoir to a dual in 67. Up here in Alberta I know of about 3 66 LeSabres sitting in a local wrecker's yard, and there are some bits and pieces left on them. No good seats though. 67 interior components will fit though, they just will be a slightly different pattern. The radios are the same, the knobs are different between the two years. Clocks, instrument clusters, and the dash plate are the same. Grilles and badging are totally different. The windshield and wipers will be the same. Most suspension components interchange. Steering columns and signal switches are different. Electrical components were slightly changed, the most significant change was the wiring change they made that allowed the park-lights to remain on when the headlights were on, and the addition of a hazard flasher. As a result the whole light switch, signal switch, and some of the fusing is different. A sort of rule of thumb is that Buick did everything in 3 year cycles then. So the cars you should be looking for are between the years of 1965 and 1967, with the 66 being a mixture of the two. Body and electrical are more interchangeable between 65 and 66, and interior and engine more between 66 and 67. Hope this helps...
