  3. The "Group Buy" for the 1967-68 Deluxe Steering wheel recasting is now officially "Open". Now is the time to start sending in the wheels. The latest date that the wheels must be received by Kochs is 31 March 2025 The cost for each wheel is $750. The only "up front cost" is your shipping the wheel. If you send in more than one wheel, each additional wheel will cost $700. Shipping and insurance to Kochs and return shipping will be extra. You will be contacted by Teresa to make payment for the wheel(s) and return shipping and insurance when your wheel(s) is complete.     I sold a 1970 GS 350 a few weeks ago and the man brought to my attention that the vin # does not show that the car I have is a GS so I whent to marco's web page and folowed the links to vin# decoding and this is what I got note that a 1970 GS 350 and 1970 Skylark are the same code my first part of the vin is 43437H and I would like to know how to prove it is a real GS the man that bought it is not backing out he just is concerned like me about clones !!! please let me know thanks

    note 33 is the skylark L6 and 34 is skylark V8 "this is a mess"

    I looked in the year one catalog. I'm pretty sure the GS350 in 1970 has its own VIN designation - and the 71 GS does not. You can only distinguish a GS from a Skylark....

    I'll try to dig up a trhead with more info!

    Regular Skylark = 33

    GS 455 = 46

    look at the Body Number plate under the bonnet for the modelnumber for extra proof, GS is ST 70 43437

    opps the number is 434370H forgot the o my bad thanks guys I am not trying to be a pain its just if you look at the line 34 = GS350 (1968-70) then go down two lines it says 34 = Skylark V8 (1970-71) this is what my concern is 1970 is 34 for both according to the web page linked by marcos page I looked that the cowl tag and it does indeed say ST 70 43437 does this prove it is a GS I dont know again I want to stress I am not tring to be a pain I just see this and I am concerned do you all see what I am talking about or is it just me ?????????

    When typing a long list like that, you can get some things wrong.
    We all depend on info given to us by books, internet or maybe the Sloan museum.
    I found the info I gave you in 3 different books from different publishers, what are the ods they all typed it wrong?

    As I asked you before: Do you want scans from two of the books to show to the person that bought the car?

    Or make a deal with him:
    Ask the Sloan museum to decode the VIN, if it's a true GS the buyer pays for the document, if it's not a true GS all costs are for you.

    The 70 GS350 had its own VIN designation: 434370H

    Just like Erik pointed out -

    I think you're in the clear...it's a real GS :bglasses: :TU:
