I went to a U-pull it yard this past Sat and they had a '72 Lark open rear. Owner said he would pull it and sell it to me for $200. Is this reasonable. I believe the car was a 350 2 barrell. Thanks, Scott
That sounds a little high for an open rearend that will probably need new seals and bearings. I have one at my home here. I'll PM you.
I think that sounds a little high considering its probably a 2.56 ratio.Maybe, you would get lucky and it would have a 3.08 but doubtful. Is there something wrong with your rearend  that you are looking for one or are you just trying to get a spare? Pat
Scott, Are you near Yardley? I'm outside of Doylestown.... Hey, if it's a U-pull-it yard, you'll get a discount if, um, U- pull-it . $200 isn't too bad these days, $100 would be better. I haven't seen many Buicks in the yards lately, I'll PM you if I see any 70-72's. Of course, I'm always looking for '66 stuff!
Hey Walt. I grew up in Doylestown, graduated from C.B. West in '90. I am outside of West Chester about 20mins to the West towards Lancaster.
In last month have pulled & hauled in 11 more '71-72 8.5 A-body rears to build off of. Only one had A10 axle bearing ends :3gears: Roger
Scott, For what it's worth..... I've sold 2 of them in the last year and a half on this board for $75 each. If I remember right, one was a 70, and the other was a 71. They were both "open" rear ends, fresh out of running cars, not needing a thing but maybe new brake pads. o No:
Thanks for all the info! The yard owner would not let me pull this myself due to its location in his yard.
