Any input would be appreciated. What years was if offered? What year did it end? Where is it found? With original paperwork? On the car? In addition, once we have the info, where can I do a search to verify info? In particular a 1970 Buick GS 455. Thanks Mac
A lot of info The engine & hp & code, the trans & code, rear end gear $ code, Options such as A/C, radio, pwr windows, pwr brakes.... Factory paint code, top & vin #, dealer code and original owner's name & address. It was supplied by GM in the glove box. Yes, it would also show the model of the car. Some mistakes were also made on the plates, so they are not 100% correct.
protect-o-plate i know that it is not for a buick , but i have the original protec-to-plate , owner's manual , order/purchase/bill of sale , and the grill bowtie for my 1970 chevelle that i ordered/purchased in feb 70 . the car , licenced until 1988 , is long gone .
Up until when..? What was the last GM yesr for Protect-O-Plates..? I bought a Skylark new in '72 and do not recall ever getting a plate. And I still have all the doc and it's not there. Was it over by then..? Thx, Stanley
Just to add a little more info... It was used to stamp information on invoices for warranty work. It was "stamped" onto the paperwork like an old style credit card imprint. So, originally it came with the warranty paperwork.
I think they went to Plastic in 72 (like a credit card) But I don't know that for sure, basing it off a plastic 72 Old's I once saw. I have never owned a 72. o No:
