I have had both in systems, I have had both systems "leak". I don't know if one works better in the system, but brake fluid is a horrible mess to clean up because as most know it will eat up any paint it contacts. Trans fluid is a real mess but it cleans up easier than brake fluid and didn't eat up the paint.
So I vote for and use only trans fluid.

brake fluid can eat paint, I wouldn't use it.

Use trans fluid and you will be fine.
