Truth. I am pretty sure there are no rotors made in the USA anymore. And, they all suck. Get off my lawn btw.
I have to install the 470 back into the Black ‘70, and then 4-speed and Iron Stage 2 into the ‘72 Skylark, all before BG.
After sitting, kneeling, laying on the concrete driveway last weekend doing the brakes on my Silverado, I came to the conclusion that my body doesn't appreciate my enthusiasm anymore. So, I'm waiting for access to my buddy's lift before I start the Buick updates: Gas tank RobbMc sender All new hoses RobbMc filter RobbMc pump Then I need to tear apart the console shifter and put in the slapshift piece I bought over a year ago Then drill/tap and install the electric choke I got sitting around for over a year Then the trunk floor has some surface rust spots I need to clean up and repaint the whole thing Im not sure the Then's will ever end!
Cussing what I hope is "only" a header leaking on the drinkers side of the Suncoupe. But not dare to touch it .....yet.
There still are some. Sadly I had two of the same part number in stock. One made in the USA and one in China. Took them out to compare them. The China one was in a sealed plastic bag cover with mausoleum. USA one was in no bag and no mausoleum. Metal chips were all over the inside box and starting to rust.
My TKX 5 speed is out for delivery today. May get it in place this weekend so I can get the measurements for the drive shaft.
Transmission is in and works great. Looks like I need the differential rebuilt. Starting to whine. Probably install rear disc brakes at the same time. Wasn't planning on this.
As soon as the weather cooperates, I am going to deal with a rust spot on the lower part of the drivers rear wheel well. Since I have nowhere else to work, the parking lot it is!
This is a Great Thread. I don’t feel so bad about being so far behind on things that I need to do now. It appears that I never truly finish working on any project. I always find something that I want to improve upon. I need to replace my stock driveshaft with one that can handle over the 650 ft lbs of torque that I currently have. I need to plug in my laptop to the MSD and re-program the curve of my distributor. I need to pull my dash and figure out why my fuel gage is not working correctly. I need to purchase and install a complete set of dark brown seat belts to replace my mismatched set. I would like to replace my Hoosier 29 X 12.5 R15’s with a new set. And my wife wants me to sell my GS. She said all it ever does is set in the shop and requires all my spare time that could better be utilized for honey do’s.
I plan on trailering my Buick to the DMV so they can verify the VIN, then I can get tags for it and drive legally. Then the real fun begins
Well, I finally was able to order my hyd. roller cam last week. So once that comes in I can finish my short block.
Putting a new power steering pump on my wannabe Buick Rainier, wishing working on in-lines was as easy as it use to be. Bob H.
Got my power steering gear box reassembled and installed, wheels still turn left and right, no moaning, groaning, or whining from pump or box. As far as any leaks it seems ok, but time will tell
Changed the coil pack and spark plugs on the wife's 2015 Encore. It dropped cylinder(s) while she was driving. The engine shook enough to trigger traction control icon. Found 2 corroded plugs and leads from coil pack. Only 42000 miles on car.
