what color?

    What was the color of the 425?

    I think the 425 is red or sikver and 401 is green. the number stamped on the fron of the block by the valley pan will thee you what it is. Where in South Miss are you? I'm in Lucedale.

    Not, depends on what year, the '64 425 in an Electra was green/aqua, only the '66 425 was red and also they all came with Q-jets! Silver was for the Rivs, not sure which years, but I think only '63-64. '65s were all green I believe!

    Hi Roberta,I am positive the 425 in the Riv was silver and and the 425 in the other series was painted red. Stu.

    Sorry but Roberta is right! The ONLY engine that came in the '66 RIV was a RED 425 !
