I have an all new brake system with front disc on my 64 vert. I have one front brake line almost touching the header and want the best fluid out there. I read the dot 5.1 has the highest boiling point. Is that true and does anybody know the boiling point for Dot 3,4,5 and the synthetics? I would like to fill my system this week. Thanks

There isnt room to move it. It took everything I had to get it not to touch. I can try again but I need to walk away from it for a while. You know I have the short fuse issue.

No brake line should be any closer than 2", especially from a header. And then I like to add some kind of a heat shield. Can you loop it up & over??? It definitely needs to be moved, NO MATTER WHAT!!!!!

silicone dot 5 has highest boiling point but you really should move line or heat wrap it

    itpphoto What just happened ?

I agree, move the line. Before it's loaded up with fluid and then you have to move it.

Better to be "Hen Pecked" by us who have been there & done that than be driving down the road & because the line was too close to the header, because it was a PIA to move it & was more work than you were willing to do at the time, & after driving the car normally & getting comfortable with the braking performance. Then after a rather romping, fun blast or two you step on the brakes & HAVE NONE because the fluid was boiling in the line & sending heated fluid other places in your braking system & god forbid you crash the car, now how much work would it be to repair & find the nec. parts????? Not counting if you or others may have gotten hurt. Hello higher insurance premiums!!!!! Save a buck & some time now or spend many more $$$$$ & time later. Not saying it will ever happen, it may never, want to take that chance on a gamble??? Your call, the ball is now in your court!!!!!!
