Wow if you were not in Sweden Yopu could sell your 3.42 gears pretty easy...lol. Everyone seems to want you to keep them...LOL. 3.08 will be good for you. Jim YES that will make a difference. Good luck ... I wish I would have known. I have a ton of excellent good used 3.08 gears for 8.5. Jim 50.00
@Bob: Not to start beating a dead horse but I've heard about too many problems with a 700r or a 200r behind a 455 so I'd rather keep my TH400 and lower the gear ratio. @Jim: Shipping a 3.08 from the states to Sweden would probably be more than what a brand new 3.08 costs here. I'll keep the 3.42 for sure. I got shelf space to spare.
95 bucks isn't bad at all. I've already gotten the gears plus all the bearings and seals but I'll keep it in mind the next time I'm rebuilding a rear axle.
