My Wayne Roberts documentation on one of my 70 GS's shows it had 14" Super Sport wheels with G70-14 RWL tires. What do the wheels look like and what kind of tires did it have? It was a December '69 built 455 car with HD suspension. Thanks, Dennis

    Dennis,
For 1970 models the Super Sport wheels were 14x6 wheels that looked exactly like the 14" Chrome Buick road wheels, but they were painted. They used the same centers as the chrome wheels, and had trim rings.

On the tires the "RWL" stands for Raised White Letters, and the size was G70-14. According to the 70 assembly manual that size could have been Uniroyal, Firestone, Goodrich, or Goodyear, so it could have had Tigerpaws, Wide Ovals, etc.

    Duane,
Thanks for the response. I just happened to have a set of those on a Skylark parts car. They are kind of cheap looking but they would be correct. I am sure the tires are available as repro's. Also, Duane can you still make me a GSX steering wheel if I supply the core? Thanks, Dennis

    Dennis,
Yes, but you better hurry up, we are working on them now. If you miss the window you will need to buy one plus a core and I only have a few left that are not spoken for.
