Yes, Pricey! Pictures are not great either, but passed the quarter test, "Really" we all know what a WG is...Talked to him and he thinks there worth the three grand buy it now price! I don't think I convinced there worth the sixteen start bid. They would need to be re-chromed for a show car. $400-$500 a wheel to have that done + shipping cost. Please somebody stop me... Anyone else have a set?

I have 4 NOS ones, however they are the early 7.0 ones. In the thinking stages as if I'd sell them or not....

    Ok Dave you asked,
What are you trying to build, a perfect "Show Car", and who are you trying to satisfy?

When we judge the cars we only look at the correct offsets, and if the centers are the correct style and have the correct satin finish, beyond that we could care less about a date code.

The only Class that would care about this would be a Platinum Class and there are none for Buicks, and there isn't a Buick out there that would pass that detail of scrutiny anyway. (Especially if I judged it.) In this class you need correctly dated tires to go along with the rims ............................... so if you car is otherwise perfect, and you don't have the tires, don't bother to even bring the car because you just lost.

..............so basically you would be doing this to satisfy yourself as an Owner only. If you really want to do this then go for it, But I personally would not pay more then $400-500 each for an original wheel that needs plated, and with that being said there is no way in hell I would do that unless I could buy ALL 5 wheels with the same date code and none of them had any type of rim damage at all.

Basically if I did not inspect the wheels in person I would not even consider it. You guys buying parts like this from people you don't know, from pictures alone, are crazy. If its that important to you, then hop on a plane and inspect them personally.

I think some of you guys have too much money to spend.

    How's that, help you out a little?

PS. I have a set of 5 correct date coded 15" Chrome "WM" rims for my 71 GSX and one has some rim damage. (If you think WG wheels are hard to find try finding a set of WM wheels.) Some day I will probably get them re-chromed, AFTER I find someone that can fix a damaged rim. Until then my "Show Car" will still have the capacity to win awards on its beautiful satin centered reproduction wheels with 5 original tires.

Only trying to satisfy myself, and don't care about car show points. My cars, although would be considerd show cars are meant to be driven not trailered. I just feel if original parts are still available, then why not hunt them down and make my car 100% authentic 1970 GM:grin:, And yes I might be crazy!:Do No:

These have been on Ebay at least three times recently with no bidding action. I talked with Kirk prior to him re-listing them this time and was trying to get more pictures, which I did, and that same day they went back on Ebay without waiting on my response. He will not budge on price sixteen is the minimum. These would be nice on my car. However they would need to be refurbished and I would have lot more dollars in them than what I would like to spend.

In my opinion, $1600 is far too much money for wheels in that condition. I MIGHT consider half of that amount for wheels in need of restoration, but the cost to restore is just too high to make these worthwhile at his asking price. Now that Caruso Performance is offering reproduction wheels on the pre-71 centers, it is even hard for someone picky like me to pay an additional $670 per wheel to get the correct date codes. I would advise you to keep looking.
