Hi All, im still tracking down the engine code. But this is my Vin# 494475A918529.. I can't find the Plant info anywere. Were is "A" thank you for your time. And is this the engine code? 8K1211328. this car is a 65 Riv.. thanks again, Pete
Hummm I think the "8" is an 8 & stands for 1968 (prolly find a 4 in front of it). The "K" is the assembly plant of the engine (prolly Kansas City, I don't have the list in front of me). Your car was built at the "A" assembly plant. Who has the list handy? Clearly not the original engine, if that is what you are after.o No:
Didn't buick stop making the nailhead in 66? there are other numbers on the block that I didnt wright down. When I get a sec. I will have to look at the engine again.. thanks, Pete
It probably a Flint built car. The engine code on a 65 Riv is either LT for a 401 or LW 425 ot LX for a 425 2x4. It is stamped on the front of the block on the passenger side from where you found the vin stamped on the block. If you look on the data tag on the cowl you will probably see a FL on the top line for Flint. Larry
