Were factory gages an option on any full size 71,72,73 rivs, lesabres or electras?

I know Rivs had sporty options and the dash is basically the same as the Lesabres and electras. Did they offer factory gages with any of them?

Nope. A clock and trip odometer is about as fancy as it got.

Never seen any. I have a tach that I bought some time back that is placed in a blank clock face. Looks pretty cool. I'll probably install it in one of my 3 72 model big cars. I'll try to remember to take a photo, if you want to see what it looks like. Didn't seem to be too hard to do, biggest thing would be to find a small enough tach...

I wonder if a small quad cluster could fit in the clock housing and made to look stock? That would be be awesome and ya I would like to see pics of what you did. Thanks.

The repro places sell a small tach for one of the Chebby cars; someone on here used that to put a tach where the clock normally goes on a '69 GS/Lark cluster.

it must be nice having them up at eye level. My 3 are under the dash on the headlight switch side. Man I would love to see a aftermarket gage package that looks stock.

I looked for years and never found one that was close, and couldn't bear the idea of cutting up the dash. So...I either did with the under-dash aftermarket stuff and applied max-tack ersatz wood on to it, it sort of fit, but yeah, in the end, it looked cheap. Right now neither of my cars have anything except the stock idiot lights in them, looks wise, clean and tidy, but yes, second-guessing it every time I drive anywhere.

I am currently installing aftermarket gauges in my 70 Electra. I gutted the clock and took the shell apart. I got a 2 inch tach and 2 inch oil pressure gauge (they will fit with some fiddling). Then I had a welding shop make me a steel plate to replace the plastic lens with 2 holes for the gauges. I am mocked it up and it looks good. Im painting the front plate today and hopefully they aren't to deterring to factory look of the dash. These are the gauges I used (they aren't the most accurate, but when your just keeping a eye on your motor 150 rpm or 3psi off isn't a issue.)

As for my oil and coolant temp, volt, and air/fuel gauge I am thinking about mounting them on the A pillar. They make aftermarket gauge pods for Skylark A pillars, but can't find out if the Skylark and Electra A pillar is the same.

They are nowhere close to being the same. C body vs A body. You MAY be able to modify the A body pillar pods to work, but you would be on your own on that.

Low fuel warning light on big cars was an option too. Not sure years, but dealer service bulletins listed them and I found a few on Electras back in junkyards in the late 80's. :TU:

    I had one in a 1974 LeSabre, as well as a 75.

ive got a few clocks if you looking for one to gut
75 76 had the following options
    gas light
    fuel econo gauge
    trip odometer and speed alert
I have not run across anything like that on 1971 1974
    1974 has a different dash cluster than 71-73 and 75 76 . 74 is 74 only
id think about putting an oil pressure gauge instead of a tach

I'm working with a fabricator to make a mini console to fit on the transmission hump under the instrument panel.

This is my rendering of what I would like the gauge panel to look like.

The fabricator hasn't started yet, but I will post pictures of the finished product.
