I went to Atco Raceway tonight, looking for that elusive 8-second run. DAMMIT! ou: Once again...soooo close! 1st pass was a 9.09 @ 149.76 with a 1.29 60-ft. 2nd pass was a 9.02 @ 149.60 with a 1.28 60-ft. I gotta say, actually, I wasn't too disappointed cuz I just swapped out my 4.56 gears on Saturday for a set of 4.30s to lose some top end rpm. To drop the gearing and still have excellant 60-fts like that was pretty cool. My best is a 1.25, but average is about a 1.27. I heard tonight was gonna be clear and cold here in NJ, so I was determined to get to the track tonight. Well, they got the cold part right! My first run it was 56* and on the second one it was 49*. Brrrr! The barometric pressure was 30.15. Good, but not earth-shattering. The bad news was...the humidity was 78% on my first run and a disgusting 89% on the second one. The car had water all over it! That's humid! I can't catch a break! I'd guess that if the humidity was down around 30-40%, I'd have run 8.80s!! Well, there's always Cecil County next week. I can't stand running real low in any given second. I always want to break into that next second. My old Monza "driver" ran 14.0's and teens every weekend at like 98-99 MPH. I was determined to get it into the 13's and see 100MPH without spending a dime or changing a thing. It was too consistent to mess with. So one weekend I took out the back seat, the spare tire, the stereo and a few other little things.... 14.02 @ 99.98 MPH! I remember it like it was yesterday. <small>(too bad it was 10 years ago)</small> That thing just wouldn't do it. :gt: ou: Good luck Doug! :beer

You guys think this is painful? How about when I went out to a track rental at Atco back in June and ran NINE passes, with the slowest being a 9.071 and the quickest a 9.007? ou: I was seven measly thousandths away!! Plus, I knew that was gonna be it for the summer. I'm real sure this combo has lots of eight second runs in it, and I'll get 'em! :TU: See Ya! PS - John, I'm expecting to see some LOW 10s from YOU!!
Just a thought Doug, but did you turn off the A/C?:laugh: :laugh: I imagine that when you do hit the 8's a bottle of bubbly will be getting sprayed all over the pits. Good luck
