any one familar with the proper way of installing the well liner...does it attach to the drain moulding or the top tack strip.

On the A-bodies it attaches to the tack strip, so I'd bet the full size cars are the same.

so would i unscrew the nuts on the back tack strip to secure them or do i need to disassemble the entire top

The correct way (once again, this is A-body experience) is that is stapled to the tack strip along with the top. Like it is an inside layer to the top. Then it falls and covers the tack strip.

    Hey all,
The 1969-70 full size GM cars have a 'floating' rear bow that does not bolt to the back of the car like the 'A' bodies do. They have a large U shaped rear tack rail that attaches at the ends and pivots at that point, it is somewhat like a 1971-76 full size GM scissor top car. The well liner would attach the same way, it staples to the back side under the top and hangs down.

My '68 Lesabre's well liner actually is screwed into the rear tack strip with typical phillips interior screws, I'm pretty sure she came factory that way...
