Once in the morning, after work and before bed.... but it could be more often depending on consumption of food and water  Everyone meet Lucy Lou (name might change ??) She is 6 weeks old, 9 lbs and about 4 inches tall, well she hasn't gotten off the floor to get a good measurment. She is St. Bernard / Boxer mix. She really laid back. So far all she has done is laid there, Our kind of dog  It was a hard step for Rod and I to take after losing Buddy, but I think it was a good one. She is just too cute how could anyone say no to bringing her home.
It's funny how a little girl (two or four legged) will turn even the biggest gear head into a mushy girlyman
Rod is giving her the talk,,,,, "There will be no chewing of the furniture, no drooling, no barking......" I think she could careless
Cute pup! I don't dare let my daughter see that pic... :error: Looks like she's gonna be a BIG one! :beer
Walking to the food bowl wore her out so she had to take a nap. When she eats she leans against the cabinet... so lazy
Yeah - did you see the size of her paws??? Aww, she is such a cutie, though. I grew up with boxers and love the breed. I hope you have a life-time supply of drool towels... My friend has two St. Bernards and it's not to be believed. I wish you guys many years of happiness with the new addition. She's a keeper!
I think she will be big too. Not as big as her brothers and sisters, but good sized. Rod's sister got one too, Odis (they lost there boxer last monday ).. he was 12 lbs with lots of wrinkles. I'm thinking he might fill into the wrinkles. He looks just like Lucy only his left eye has the brown patch and he's bigger. The mom (boxer, had 12 puppies) and dad (st. Bernard) were both super laid back, so these should be good puppies when they grow up.
Cute pup. We lost our male Jack Russell in August to kidney failure. He was only 10 years old. He just went downhill so fast. He was always the healthy one, the female had allergies and the occasional seizure. Put him down on a Wednesday and went to Missouri and picked up the replacement. Maybe we did it too soon, but the female was looking around for her buddy all the time. The new pup filled that void in no time at all. Now she's the alpha dog and knows just how to put the new youngster in his place, plus she acts a lot younger. Congrats on the new addition to the family, Danie. It takes time when you lose an animal, they're all different and have different personalities. The always find a way to fill in that void due to the loss.
We are really wondering how she is going to be around the cars. She's going to be about 7-8 months old by the time we start going to the track. I hope she doesn't freak out. Although we were watching some racing on tv Saturday night and she perks up at the sound of the cars :Brow: so she might end up being ok with it. She definatly fills a void that was left. I'm afraid that we might hold it against her that she isn't Buddy, but I'm sure she will be just as great of a friend that Buddy was. So far we haven't heard her bark (hopefully she won't be a barker) she does grunt like a pig..lol
Whoa. Somebody let the air out your dog! p She is a cutie and I get the feeling she knows that. I like the female dogs better, myself. You can give them a tummy rub and still just be friends. Sorry to hear about people losing their dogs. They may not be kids, but it still hurts. Mine is 8 and I'm dreading that day.
Congrats to you & Rod. :beer She is just way to cute, looking forward to meeting her at the next event. I'll gladly puppysit at the event too, if need be. I better not let Liam see this thread... he's been bugging Dana & I for a puppy. Beth
Oh boy... Oh shoot Dana's home, he's not going to be happy I saw this thread first (I want a puppy too)... I better run for now... Beth
