As long as it gets past that vertical piece of seal on the back side of the quarter window, you’re fine.

A brand I've not seen mentioned in this thread is Fairchild Industries . Any familiarity with their products?

None that I have found mold the metal support in them like original GM.

Best to buy is GM latex made in Canada.

From what I see, the metro is too thick. It shouldn't fit like it does around that metal retainer

Not worth the $1500 they're going to want

I would strongly disagree with that. I tried them all. Precision brand is the best trunk weatherstripping. The metro I had to slam the hell out of the trunk. As far as roof rail. If you have power windows better go with latex. I can’t vouch for aftermarket Latex as I used NOS. Windows won’t close all the way with name brands.

Thanks! I couldn't get a straight answer on the "after market" latex versions as who was the manufacture...So I decided to get the Metro

And I have power windows so it should be interesting. I haven't tried the windows yet. Still debating weather to glue the front edge at the bottom by the pins to the door jam. The rest tucked in pretty good. Just need to trim the excess on the rear.

If you don't use the latex roof rails, put the windows up and close the doors. Leave them be for a while. It should "seat" somewhat.

So weatherstripping is installed and besides the doors not closing all the way anymore. Think it’s the mating of the roof rail and door weatherstripping at the front of the door.

Had a question about how the roof rail and the side quarter glass weatherstripping meets. Does this look correct? The roof rail pushes the quarter glass weatherstripping away at the top of the window. Guessing it’s correct since the glass seats against the roof rail and outer felt strip on the quarter panel. Just wanted to make sure.

Your pic is too close up to see what your talking about.
Keep tweaking and adjusting the glass, the new seals are no where near as supple as originals, as for the door seals, your going to have to slam the doors for a few years, the seals are like tire rubber:rolleyes:

The only thing you could do to slightly alleviate the door slamming is to move the striker out a smidge till the seals “ crush” BUT then you’ll have to readjust the door glass to line up and seal

When you put new roof rail weatherstripping in, all the glass needs to be adjusted

Yeah, it took a bit (power windows) but I got them all aligned after putting in the roof rail weatherstripping. Got a little gap between the front and rear windows. Just need to rotate front window a bit

Once I put the door weatherstripping on, then the door didn’t close all the way. But glass seems to still be good. Looks to be hitting up front where they meet.

The stainless trim going down the A pillar is adjustable too. The stainless channel has slotted holes to move the trim in and out

Hey, that worked. I loosened bottom two screws and slid trim inward a bit and viola, doors close (well slam) all the way now. Thanks!
