I have seen many different brands and pricing for weather stripping. I'm looking for a good quality set at a reasonable price. Anyone have any experiences with the different brands?

There are several threads on this. I am not sure there is a consensus. There are only three US manufacturers that I know about:

    • Soft Seal
    • Metro, and
    • Steele Rubber.
All others I suspect are resellers.

Perhaps someone is now having some made oversees.

I used the Metro 6 months ago and it was good fit. Seemed like good quality. Nothing to complain about. I bought the 9 piece kit on Ebay. I think it was $125. The American made are supposed to be better.

I recently installed the door weather stripping, pillar seals, and A-pillar seal with stuff I got from Year One (can't remember the manufacturer). I wasn't real impressed with the quality. I mean, they worked but were very flimsy. I need to replace the weather stripping for my convertible top and I'm going to order those from Steele.

At one time Year One sold Soft Seal brand products.

Year one still sells Soff Seal weatherstripping. I just got the roofrails and doors from them.

I also used a Metro kit on my convertible, it was pretty good, it fit well and did not cause any problems with the windows operating smoothly.
