The weather outlook for this weekend is not looking good, we have been watching it for about a week and we will be making a decision by tomorrow by 5 pm. Would you guys and gals have a problem if we moved it to the weekend of the 21st and 22nd, if the weather does not look any better by tomorrow.
yeah, I noticed the weather ain't looking too good either. If it is moved, I'm out as I'll be in New Mexico visiting my dad
Been keeping an eye on the weather myself. This is Michigan and the weather can change in the blink of an eye. I would really like to run this weekend. However, if we cannot the following weekend will work for me if all goes well here at worko No: Damn you rain:rant:
This weekend would be better, but I believe Tom and I can do it next weekend as well. Darn rain!!:af:
I would not be able to make it for both days if it was rescheduled for Oct 21 & 22. I'm self employed and I scheduled myself off this weekend and I have 2 gigs lined up for the following weekend. I could possibly come out and run Friday the 21st only.
Terry, if the weather outlook doesn't improve I'll probably not tow 600+ miles, round trip. My flight schedule would only allow 28/29th. So sorry!! Thomas
Thomas... Your car is small ,so couldn't you just load it in the cargohold of the 747 ,and land it on the dragstrip? Imagine what great hook the cars would get with the additional rubber going all the way down the track. And you'd have one heck of a track dryer onhand just in case.:Brow: Just trying to help a brother out .... Rich C.
My buddy Mike and I are planning on bringing our cars this weekend. I've been keeping an eye on the National Weather Service forecast. They are saying a slight chance of rain each day. http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClic...RR&textField1=42.5371&textField2=-85.6375&e=1 I think a "slight chance" means less than 10% and that it wouldn't last long. Lets keep our fingers crossed that this weekend will work out.
I'm out if it's not this weekend as I'm moving my mom this Sunday and next weekend. Tim is gone hunting but Rhonda said this weekend, but then again the Chevelle is apart.
My cars together. Just swapped 4:56 to 4:33. Either weekend be ok. Ill be home wednesday morning to start loading.
Ya know Rich a 747 might not be all that necessary... Take a look at the 727's I flew for Air Micronesia back in the '80's. They were combi aircraft meaning they held passengers in the rear and the forward section of the plane held two cargo palettes and had those big cargo doors on the left side. Here's an interior view standing in the cockpit doorway looking aft. It was roomy enough to haul... ...Ta Da...small cars and trucks inside. Hmmmm, not sure about the Chevy II head room though.... But all your other ideas sure have merit! What'd think Terry, maybe do some fast talking with the track guys?? :Brow: Thomas
Hey Guys & Gals The weather has taken a turn for the better, only a chance of morning showers on Friday so......LETS GET READY TO RACE!!!!!!!:TU: :3gears: The race is ON THIS WEEKEND!!
Thomas .... I like it!!! That's what I'd call a Rock Star entrance ...:bglasses: I think that you should go for it. Oh wait? Better not say that to you . You just might do it.:Brow: :Brow: Rich C.
Thomas I would love to run you Friday. A good 60ft out of my car and a clean run for you would be a great run. Pro tree should help me not to red light :beers2:
Hi there Jeremy, I too would love to run you.......again. With any luck I've got my car better sorted out and I hope to make it a fight to the finish! ray: I'm pretty well packed, just need to load the little Chevy II on the trailer tomorrow and I'm on my way. Be there or be square. :3gears: Thomas
I made a quick run to Joliet, Illinois yesterday to pic up a part for one of the projects. Got caught in a monsoon that stayed with me all the way across Indiana and Mich. Still remnants there (and here) now, but should clear out tomorrow sometime. Supposed to be really windy Saturday, hope it's a tailwind for you guys. Good luck. Go Green!
