The year was 1986. My dad brought home a 69 gs 400 from Edmonton Alberta. We lived in North Battleford saskatchawan and there was a lot of so called fast cars in town. My dad told us that the buicks were the badest out of the old muscle cars. He was a car freak for years and I had the privlege of riding in almost every big block car made. We had a hemi gtx 67, 440 charger 70, many fords, a amx, ls6 chevel 70, but at the age of 16 he bought me and my 18 year old bro the 69, although it had a 70 455 stg 1. We wanted to try it out soon and see if all this stuff he was telling us was true. on our first night out with the car we went to the local stretch of pavement to race. I have been a buick lover ever sence that night. We hammered all of the so called fast cars in town by at least 5 car langths. Cars with thousands spent on their shinny engine parts. tunnel rams poppen out of the hood and the like. It was so easy that it almost felt like we where cheating. None of the local motor heads knew about buicks and where amazed at how fast it was. town after town fell to the monster that my dad had created. today I have a 69 with a 455 stg 2, all ta stuff of course, and the story is the same to with us winning and them wondering why, and what Kind of car is that thing a chevel? Ha Ha! :3gears: :3gears:

I also have some other realy good kill stories to tell, and a few copper chase ones as well, but hear in toon town (saskatoon) it is getting late so Ill tell one later. how about the one where we gave it to our freinds 67 396ss 4 spd chevel? Get this, we did it in a 67 waggon with a 430 in it. It was a gas to see the look on his face.

Welcome to the board, Jeff! :beer

The thing you have to remember is that some of these guys with the chevelles and whatnot have no clue how to set up a motor. (that includes Buick guys too) If it's done right it'll run. The ones you gotta watch out for are the guys who do! :bglasses:

Yah, I know. My freind had a 68 440 GTX. He had a lot of cash, and a bunch of Know how. That car was rarely chalanged. It was set up real well and it launched like a pro. Although I never had a buick at the time I am sure it would have been good. He was a maniac though and he did 4 cartweels with it on the highway. I know it was 4 because you could count the missing chunks of pavement. :Dou: Oh yah my curnt car is 462 ci.
