Water temperature gage

I'm going to put A water temperature gage on my car.I would like to leave the factory water temperature sender on car. Can I put my new sender in the place where the thermo vacuum switch is.I don't use it ,I get vac to distributor from full vac port .

I thought it would work ,nice to hear some one did it .

 

I put a sending unit that turns my 1 electric fan on in that port.I prefer electric gauges over the ones with the tube..
